again, I'm really unsure where this topic would go so I put it here....
Basically post anything about stereotypes, what you think of them, etc. etc.....
Here's one:
I get reaaallllyyy pissed when people mush asians all into one category; if you have squinty eyes then that automatically makes you Chinese right? WRONG
People have thier own identity, and I think it's a horrible stereotype to group them all as Chinese or Japanese. There happens to be a difference between Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc.
Here's the basic difference between Japanese and Chinese. Japanese people have long names such as, Toshiba, Toyota.
Chinese people have shrter names such as Han, Ming, Tan.

Also, stereotypes are just catagories that were placed in our head as children from movies, older siblings etc. not just your ethniticitys or cliques are grouped, but also your parents have taught the difference between rich and poor, old and young, boy and girl. We've catagorized every aspect of our society so we see a difference in everyone when in reality, no ones different in that way. The reason people are racists and feminists and what not, is because they were exposed to this types of behavior at some point or another and agreed to it. If they never knew what it was and were just taught about respect and that everyone has the same rights etc, this wouldn't be a problem.
